109 years ago there was a fearless man named Mitsuyo Maeda who traveled the globe taking on all comers in no holds barred (MMA) fights.
The men who fought against him stood no chance as Maeda had a secret weapon. His teacher was Jigoro Kano - the founder of Judo - so Maeda knew how to throw and he knew how to grapple.
Most of Maeda's fights were very fast. This particular fight advertised on this shirt didn't last more than a few minutes. Despite being one of the best boxers in the region, Corbiniano was forced to submit and soon became a student of Maeda.
Maeda was a trailblazer, spreading Jiu-jitsu to the UK and Brazil, to the Gracies and worldwide!
